For more than four decades and across three generations, MECANCO has been at the forefront of architectural shading and tensile membrane engineering in India — evolving continuously, innovating consistently and delivering with an unwavering commitment to quality that has become the defining characteristic of our brand.
What began as a specialisation in retractable awnings has grown, through years of research, technical evolution and design ambition, into one of the most comprehensive and respected portfolios of tensile membrane structures, modular shading systems and architectural canopy solutions in the country.

European design traditions and engineering philosophies have been a source of deep inspiration for us — and that inspiration is visible across our product range. But inspiration and imitation are fundamentally different things, and we have always understood that distinction clearly.
What we bring to every product is our own structural thinking, our own workshop detailing, our own creative resolution — rooted in European academic knowledge and expressed through MECANCO's original design language.
No Shortcuts. Ever.
In an industry where structural compliance is often treated as optional, MECANCO treats it as foundational. Every structure we design — irrespective of scale, complexity or budget — goes through a complete design engineering analysis process.
Structural stability checks, load calculations, compliance verification against European design guidelines and Indian Standard codes, safety factor assessments — all are applied without exception to every project we undertake.
This commitment extends to how we install what we build. We follow the recommended parameters for membrane installation, tensioning and stretching — in full compliance with the warranty requirements of every material we use, whether membrane fabric, motorisation system, cable assembly or hardware component.
We use specialised tensioning equipment, calibrated cable systems, European-standard ratchet and external tensioning profiles — because the difference between a structure that performs and one that fails often lies not in what was built, but in how it was installed.
We do not stretch membranes beyond their tolerance. We do not install randomly. We do not proceed without theoretical analysis. And we do not make exceptions to this — regardless of project size or client pressure.
This is what engineering integrity means to us, and it is one of the most significant differentiators between MECANCO and the vast majority of operators in this industry.

The quality of a structure is only as good as the materials within it — and at MECANCO, material selection is a process as rigorous as our design engineering.
We choose the right fabric type for every application — Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 or Type 4 membrane — based on the specific environmental conditions, usage demands and warranty requirements of each project.
In oceanic environments, we specify SS 316 stainless steel hardware for its superior corrosion resistance. In high UV or heat-exposed applications, we select fabrics with the appropriate protective coatings and performance ratings.
In every project, we source from the right suppliers — whether it is paint systems, structural accessories, adhesive chemicals or membrane fabrics — because maintaining our benchmark means never compromising on what goes into our structures.
